A message from our Founder

I have some updates. Our journey with Immersive Rehab is sadly coming to an end after almost 8 years of moving the needle forward within the field of neurorehabilitation and the use of digital therapeutics in the space. It is definitely a bittersweet feeling and it will take some time to digest everything, but no regrets at all. Starting Immersive Rehab was one of the best decisions I have ever made back in the summer of 2016, not only because I have been able to work on developing my vision for the company into something real but also because of the amazing people I worked alongside. I will never be able to show enough gratitude for all the help and support I received along the way. There were many ups & downs during those 8 years, but I prefer to focus on the many positives like the contributions we have made to the use of digital therapeutics using immersive technologies in healthcare.

I still remember the excitement, anticipation, fear, anxiety and giddiness of starting my first company. The team at Bethnal Green Ventures took me under their wing as a first time startup founder and it was the perfect place for me to grow, learn and explore. Thanks Paul Miller, Melanie Hayes and team for your advice and guidance on my entrepreneurial journey.

Next, I would like to extend my gratitude to my amazing team members, advisors, and trusted partners that believed in my vision for Immersive Rehab and joined me on our journey. I would like to particularly thank Javier Villalba who joined Immersive Rehab in the early days, Hak Salih for being a great mentor and sounding board, and Eveline Van Keymeulen, Marco de Morpurgo, Alexandre Rudoni, Rosemary Hall for their support along the way. I would also like to thank the founders of ustwo, Mills and Sinx John Sinclair, who took us in as part of the ustwo Adventure founder community. Great exchanges and friendships with ustwobies were made along the way. Finally, a huge thanks to the Microsoft for Startups & Social Tech Trust teams who gave us access to valuable expertise and cutting-edge technologies. A particular thanks to Clare Barclay, Edward Evans, Anne-Claire Lo Bianco, Dr Ian McDonald for their support over the years. Huge thanks to Rosalind Singleton for her advice, guidance and mentorship. Our many conversations over the years have always left me inspired and provided clarity. Thanks again for making time in your busy schedule for me. I am very grateful.

A special shout out to all the patients and healthcare professionals we worked with around the world. Without their input and guidance, none of our vision would have become a reality. I will always appreciate their time and trust they gave us to bring Immersive Rehab into their neurorehab services.

Also, a special shout out to my friends and family for their support.

What’s next? Well, lots of reflection in order to regroup & refocus. Feel free to drop me a message on LinkedIn if you want to have a chat. I look forward to keep making a positive impact together.

Onwards and upwards 🙂

Thanks!

Isabel
